As a sort of longer study, this site will be investigating the gaming trends over two weeks on steam. For further plans this site will also log more. As for rules this first post will view the top 100 games that had the most concurrent players of the day. After this two week stint, This website will compile the whole month of march and April. After organizing that information and then making a set of graphs to display it, this website will then display the results. Also more than just one review is in the works. Two reviews of old games will happen over the coming weeks. Then in April a review of the fallout 76 Wastelanders update.
the graph sows that the users fluctuates a little but the peak times seem to be around 6 am. Kinda feeds into a idea of people staying up late.
predictably enough the top 5 games of the day seem to be Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Dota 2, PUBG, GTAV, Rainbow Six Siege. Global Offensive being the first with nearly half a million people at the time of writing and only a couple hundred thousand shy of a million. This accounts for 4.74% of the peak population and 3.39% at time of writing.
An interesting observation from this is that there are very few new games on this list. Most of the games, and the all of the top 5 have been around for years, the newest of these being PUBG and Siege. If anyone reading this plays some of these games I would be interested to here why you keep coming back to these games.
